Website redesign

Website redesign without losing what works.

A new website should bring in more work, not quietly lose the rankings and enquiries your old one earned. We rebuild outdated sites for Northern Ireland businesses, with every old page mapped, redirected and checked.

Signs it’s time

When a redesign pays for itself

01

It looks dated next to competitors

Customers compare you in seconds. An old design makes a good business look smaller than it is.

02

It doesn't bring in enquiries

Visitors arrive, but the phone doesn't ring. Usually the page doesn't answer their questions or make contacting you easy.

03

It's slow or awkward on a phone

Most local searches happen on mobile. If pages are slow or fiddly, people go back and pick someone else.

04

You can't update it

Stuck on a builder, theme or platform you've outgrown, so new work and reviews never make it onto the site.

“About £300k in jobs booked in the past few months.”

Kenny, Skye’s the Limit Building & Joinery (website rebuild and Meta ads)

Same business, same services, a very different first impression. The new site puts finished projects, the areas covered and a quick way to ask for a quote front and centre, which is what customers check before they ring a builder.

Protecting your rankings

Seven checks we never skip

  1. Inventory every URLWe crawl the old site and export its pages from Search Console, so nothing that earns traffic is missed.
  2. Benchmark firstWe note current rankings, traffic and enquiries, so you can compare before and after honestly.
  3. Keep what worksPages and wording that already rank are kept or improved, not deleted for the sake of a new look.
  4. Map every redirectEach old address gets a permanent 301 redirect to its closest new page. One hop, no chains.
  5. Test before launchYou test the new site on your own phone, and we check forms, tracking, speed and page titles.
  6. Launch-day checksRedirects tested, sitemap submitted to Google Search Console, analytics and call tracking confirmed.
  7. Watch the weeks afterWe watch Search Console for errors and dips in the weeks after launch and fix anything that slips.

We did this on our own site too: when we moved from Wix to WordPress in October 2026, old addresses like /seo-ballymena and /team were redirected to their new pages.

How a redesign works

Run by phone and video, with you signing off each stage.

  1. 01

    Discovery call

What the site needs to do, what's working now and what isn't.

  2. 02

    Audit and plan

URL inventory, benchmark, page plan and redirect map.

  3. 03

    Design and build

You approve the design, then try the working site before launch.

  4. 04

    Launch and look after

Redirects live, Search Console checked, and ongoing care if you want it.

Website redesign questions

Something else? Ask us directly and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Will a new website lose our Google rankings?

It can, if old pages vanish without redirects or the content that ranked is thrown away. That's the most common way redesigns go wrong. We list every existing URL, keep or improve the content that earns traffic, and set up a permanent (301) redirect from every old address that changes, then check them all on launch day.

Can we keep our domain name and email?

Yes. A redesign changes the website, not your domain. Your email usually runs separately and isn't touched; we check how it is set up before we change anything at your domain host.

Can you move our site off Wix or an old WordPress theme?

Yes. We moved our own site from Wix to WordPress in October 2026 and redirected the old Wix addresses, such as /seo-ballymena and /team, to their new pages. We do the same mapping for clients, whatever platform they are leaving.

Do we definitely need a full rebuild?

Not always. Sometimes faster pages, clearer copy and a few new pages fix the problem. We'll look at what you have and tell you honestly whether to improve it or start again. If it's improvements, see our web development work.

How long does a redesign take?

It depends on the number of pages, the content and how quickly decisions are made. You'll get a timeline after the discovery call, and you see the new site working before it goes live.

Who writes the words and sorts the photos?

We can write the copy with you, based on a call about your business, and we plan the pages around your best project photos and reviews. If you'd rather write it yourself, we'll edit it for search and clarity.
